Hello All Swappers
Tuesday, September 16, 2008
Lookie, lookie what I got!!!
The UPS man came early this afternoon and it was a welcome interruption from Mount Laundry! Didn't Marlene do a great job for her first swap? And she the nail right on the head. I LOVE everything! I got four, count 'em, four big balls of Lydia's crochet thread size 10! It's a beautiful natural color and I can't wait to use it. I got this month's Interweave Knits. I lost count of how many projects I want to make in there. I got a beginners book for knitting, crochet, tatting and embroidery. I've always wanted to learn to tat, so now I have NO excuse. There were two pot holders that match my kitchen beautifully. And she made a me a lovely tea-towel topper and matching cotton coaster, or maybe it's a small dishcloth. I've already used it underneath my beautiful autumn leaf mug, which came filled with flavored teas! And last but not least, I got a set of stationery with gerber daisies and a fun-funky colorful pen with which to write.
I loved everything and am so thankful. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Marlene!

As usual if you want to swap in Sept...???? then comment here and I will add you to the Sept. Swap list...
The theme for this month will be a lot of fun because you choose:...
September:
Surprise Me Month, Trivia: To possess a white elephant was regarded(and still is regarded, in Thailand and Burma) as a sign that the monach was ruling with justice and the kingdom was blessed with peace and prosperity. Because the animals were considered sacred and laws protected them from labor, receiveing a "gift" of a white elephant from a monarch was both a blessing and a curse: a blessing because of the animal's sacred nature and a curse because the animal could be put to no practical use.
You will send your partner:
- A surprise pattern for a ???
- Enough yarn for the project
- All the notions required
- A fancy pen or pencil
- A package of stationery
- A pattern booklet or stitching Novel. [any kind like Liesure Arts publishes, or a book by Debbie Macomber or Maggie Sefton]
- A surprise "White Elephant"gift???? [something you have that is handmade]
Have fun and remember the package needs to be mailed by the end of the month and you must include at least all the above items to swap!!!

Welcome 2 New Swappers
We have 2 more swappers to add to our friendly little group..
Patty C and Marlene C
A little about Patty: " She is 25 years old. has been married for three years. She has a stepson who is 9 years old along with her own 2 year old little boy, and a three month old set of twin girls. She teaches Theatre Arts to 7-12 graders. She has participated in one apron swap. She loves the arts and crafts things, but regrettably she is just now learning to sew, crochet, etc... she has been working on crocheting for awhile now, but she hates everything she has done so she always unravels her work. She LOVES to read, scrap book, (tries to) draw, (tries to) cook, makes lanyards, and works on latch hooks. She is also a huge fan of learning so anything anyone can teach her in the crafts area would be wonderful."
Patty be sure to check out http://dabookswap.blogspot.com it is the other swap which is with books, since you are a book lover like me. :)
